Donald Shassian, Frontier Communications Corp. executive vice president and chief financial officer, has resigned.
Shassian will handle the filing of Frontier’s year-end financial statements, but will leave his posts effective Feb. 26, the company said. John Jureller, who is to join Frontier on Jan. 7, will take over the positions on Feb. 27. Shassian will remain with Frontier until March 31 to help with the transition, the company said.
.
Jureller was a senior vice president for the Resources Group of General Atlantic LLC and was a chief financial officer for WestPoint International Inc. He has also held senior roles at PepsiCo World Trading Co. Inc. and General Electric Capital Corp.
“(Jureller’s) strong financial and operational background provides the skills the company needs to succeed in a highly competitive environment,” said Maggie Wilderotter, chairman and CEO of Frontier, in a statement.
The company did not give a reason for Shassian’s resignation. He joined in April 2006 as CFO.
“We announce Don’s resignation with regret,” Wilderotter said. “He has been a major contributor to our company during pivotal times.”
