Organizers of the 2013 Labatt Blue Canal Cup announced Monday slots remain available for teams looking to compete in the fourth annual pond hockey tournament in Rochester.

The tournament is slated for Jan. 26 and 27 at its new location on the Erie Canal in Bushnell’s Basin. It is sponsored by High Falls Hockey and Buffalo-based Labatt USA.

The winning team of the Labatt Blue Canal Cup will go on to compete in the sold-out Labatt Blue Buffalo Pond Hockey Tournament Feb. 9 at Erie Basin Marina in Buffalo, officials said.
Register before Jan. 19 at www.highfallshockey.com.

The annual tournament moved this year from Fairport down the Erie Canal to its new home.

The tournament also will feature a collection drive benefitting the West Webster Fire Department. Spectators, players and fans can donate money in honor of the fallen firefighters.

High Falls Hockey has been running pond hockey tournaments in the Rochester area since 2008.
