Carestream Health Inc. was awarded 43 patents last year, Carestream officials said Thursday.

Patents awarded to the medical imaging and x-ray film firm’s researchers by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office last year included patents for digital radiography detectors and mobile X-ray systems. Carestream also received patents for advanced image digital radiography processing methods and for mammography exams.

Patents received by the company’s scientists last year also apply to medical imaging in intensive care settings, orthopedics, radiology information, and picture archiving and communications systems, dental optical camera systems, and radiography sensors.
