Roberts Wesleyan College president to retire

Roberts Wesleyan College will be looking for a new president.

President John Martin announced Monday he will retire at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.

“The college is moving into its next critical phase of development, and I feel that the timing of this transition makes sense from a strategic perspective,” Martin said. “I am proud of all we have accomplished together, and I feel confident that that Roberts community will continue to thrive.”

The college’s board of trustees is starting the process to look for a successor, college officials said.

“John has been and continues to be an incredible leader for the college,” Chairman Terry Taber said. “On behalf of the entire board, we look forward to helping John complete his administrative responsibilities, and wish him well in this next chapter.”
