Brighton’s Mendon Capital Advisors Corp. was named best long/short fund manager in global competition at this month’s 2013 Hedgeweek Awards in London.

Mendon Capital earned its award for management of the Moors & Mendon Master Fund L.P. in 2012.

Mendon Capital and winners in 41 other categories were determined by voting from Hedgeweek’s 41,000 subscribers, including institutional investors, wealth managers, fund managers and other industry professionals, Hedgeweek said.

The winners were announced March 1.

Hedgeweek is an online hedge fund news provider. It has presented its global awards annually for the last four years.
