Harris Corp.’s RF Communications division in Rochester has received a $40 million order for its tactical radios from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

The radios will be part of a broader tactical communications system, the company said.

RF Communications will supply Brunei’s military with several different models of its radios that provide line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight voice and data communications, plus wideband networking. The company also said it will provide logistical and customer field support.

“Harris radio systems will establish a secure communications backbone for the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and its modernization program,’’ said Brendan O’Connell, president of RF Communications’ international business, in a statement. “These tactical systems will enhance situational awareness and speed decision-making.’’
Brunei is located in Southeast Asia.
