Rincon Criollo, a restaurant specializing in Puerto Rican sandwiches, celebrated its grand opening this week on Dewey Avenue.

The restaurant, owned by Lucila and Eddie Matos, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1485 Dewey Ave.

“Rochester has been able to remain a strong and vibrant city over the past few years, not just because of big business but because of the importance we place on culture and the small business entrepreneurs,” said Carlos Carballada, commissioner of City Neighborhood and Business Development, in a statement.

The Matoses worked in the restaurant business before deciding to open their own eatery.
