July 26, 2013

Monroe Veterinary Associates has opened an outpatient animal clinic on Bay Street.

Rochester Community Animal Clinic will provide economical veterinary services for dogs and cats, including income-based spay and neuter procedures and after-hours outpatient urgent care services and wellness care.

The clinic will add 14 jobs, including four full-time and 10 part-time positions. In cooperation with Rochester Hope for Pets, RCAC will rely on volunteers to assist with appointment scheduling, check-in and discharging patients.

Friends of Ferals clinics will be scheduled monthly to address the feline overpopulation problem. At the clinics, roughly 30 to 40 cats will be spayed or neutered and receive vaccines and flea treatments.

Carlos Carballada, city Department of Neighborhood and Business Development commissioner, City Council President Lovely Warren and other officials marked the grand opening Friday at the 985 Bay St. facility.
