The Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology has been named one of the least expensive private business schools.

The list comes from U.S. News & World Report, which ranked the Saunders College ninth with tuition and fees totaling $36,216 for the 2012-13 school year.

The No. 1 ranked school was Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management, which cost $21,900. Also included on the list was Alfred University, which ranked 10th at $37,646.

“We at RIT have worked hard to make a business education affordable for our students,” said Saunders College dean dt ogilvie. “In addition to keeping tuition as low as we could, we help our students obtain co-op positions, the earnings from which can be used to help pay for their education, giving our students immediate dividends in terms of education, experiential learning and affordability."

Saunders College graduates have a 94 percent placement rate, she added.

The U.S. News list is a spinoff from its overall rankings.
