Comment sought on Inner Loop project designs

Rochester Business Journal
October 29, 2013

Preliminary designs for the Inner Loop removal project on the east side of Rochester will be discussed Nov. 6, city officials announced Tuesday.

The open house is 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Manhattan Square Lodge, on Court Street. The public can inspect the suggested design alternatives and comment, officials said.

The Inner Loop project involves the removal of a two-thirds mile section between Broadway and Charlotte Street and the creation of an at-grade roadway with mixed-use development parcels.

Preliminary engineering and design is scheduled for completion by January, with a final design ready by June 14, officials said. Construction could begin as soon as next fall.
