Rochester-based Document Security Systems Inc. has agreed to a sales and internet protocol partnership with Express Mobile Inc., the company announced Tuesday.

DSS, a developer of cloud computing and security printing technologies, is the exclusive channel partner for Express Mobile’s mobile enterprise application platform in the anti-counterfeit and fraud detection market, company officials said.

DSS also will receive a license to Express Mobile’s pioneering patent portfolio, which develops custom applications and websites, officials said.

Express Mobile will receive a license to a portion of the DSS patent portfolio, and advisory and financial support from DSS technology management, which will work with Express Mobile on patent licensing.

Based in Novato, Calif., Express Mobile creates and markets software.

“XMO is a great example of the type of company we want to be involved with,” DSS CEO Jeffrey Ronaldi said in a statement. “There is significant commercial application for their core technology in multiple industries backed up by pioneering IP.”
