Two officials from U.S. Department of Defense’s procurement division will tour the Eastman Business Park and two Rochester Institute of Technology manufacturing facilities Monday with Rep. Louise Slaughter, officials said Friday.

Elana Broitman, acting deputy assistant secretary of defense for manufacturing and industrial base policy, and Adele Ratcliff, director of the defense manufacturing technology program, will be briefed on the Rochester area’s high-technology research, development manufacturing and academic facilities, said Slaughter, D-N.Y. They also will meet principals from local defense contractors.

Nabil Nasr, assistant provost for academic affairs and director of RIT’s Center for Integrated Manufacturing Studies, is slated to help lead a tour of the center and the Golisano Institute for Sustainability.
