Simon Business School ranks among top in the world

Rochester Business Journal

The Simon Business School at the University of Rochester has been listed among the top business schools in the world by the Financial Times of London.
In the list published Monday, the school ranked No. 29 among top business schools in the United States. Its world ranking jumped four spots from last year, reaching No. 55.
Within specialty rankings, Simon School reached No. 4 in the world for finance, up from No. 7 last year, and was ranked No. 3 in the world for economics.
“This international recognition from the Financial Times is an honor and a true testament to our world-class faculty and students,” said Mark Zupan, Simon School dean. “Our ultimate goal is to toughen up our students by preparing them to navigate the challenges that arise in any business environment.”
The annual survey is described by the Financial Times as a comprehensive assessment of the value of an MBA and the schools that offer them. Rankings are based on information collected from global business schools and their 2010 graduates.
“Key measures of a business school are the satisfaction and success of its graduates,” Zupan said. “We are immensely proud of our alumni and their accomplishments continue to underscore the value of their Simon education.”
