Startup, venture expert to speak at annual luncheon

Victor Hwang, a startup and venture expert, is the keynote speaker for the Sixth Annual Celebration of Entrepreneurship Luncheon.

The event is slated to take place May 2 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Rochester.

Hwang is co-author of “The Rainforest: The Secret to Building the Next Silicon Valley,” the author of a companion book, “The Rainforest Blueprint: How to Design Your Own Silicon Valley” and managing director of T2 Venture Capital based in Silicon Valley.

The event honors the winners of the 2014 Rochester Regional Business Plan Contest, which encourages entrepreneurship in Rochester by acknowledging the most promising new ventures and startups in the region.

Tickets cost $45 each. Tickets can be obtained at www.htr.org and must be purchased by April 25.
