If a business or organization has a message it wants to get out, Wayne Didas believes his firm can best meet the challenge.
Success is about getting the message that matters to the right audience when it needs the information, he says.
“We keep up with the latest technology,” Didas says. “And we listen to our customers. Our growth is happening as a result of listening.”
Didas is the owner, president and CEO of Empire Digital Signs LLC. The business opened this year at the Eastman Business Park on West Ridge Road.
The three-person firm provides digital marketing services, including digital signs and advertising, as well as creative services. Its products include video walls, interactive maps, menus and electronic surveys on screens that range from seven to 47 inches.
The company uses thin-film, interactive signs and outdoor electronic display systems, which can be customized. Empire Digital Signs specializes in continuously looping shows, ads and presentations managed remotely via a smartphone or tablet.
The business serves industries ranging from health care and hospitality to entertainment, education and government. Its customer base includes Rochester Institute of Technology, which has three of the interactive signs, and the Rochester RazorSharks basketball team, for the team’s Jumbotron in Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial.
Empire Digital Signs was at this year’s Home & Garden Show at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center, where a free-standing interactive kiosk allowed visitors to use a touchscreen to view content for all of the show’s sponsors.
Besides Didas, the company includes Chris Snelling, vice president of sales, and Kevin Kwasneski, its digital designer.
The team is able to provide services that bring customers from the design phase to implementation and upkeep.
“We bring them new, interactive technology, then make sure it works,” Didas says.
The firm also places an emphasis on quick turnaround and delivery times, he says.
Didas is no stranger to the corporate world. He spent 17 years at Eastman Kodak Co. in a number of positions, including director of new business development. He also has a master’s degree in product development from RIT.
Looking forward, Didas would like to expand the business nationally. There has been interest from potential customers in the South and along the West Coast.
“We have a lot of opportunities for growth,” he says.
