Catholic Family Center has received the largest single donation in the organization’s history— $100,000 from Rochester attorney and property manager James Philippone.
Philippone and his wife, Mary Ann, said the timing of their gift was prompted by a change in tax law. Signed into law in December, the law made it easier to transfer Individual Retirement Account distributions to non-profit organizations.
“My wife and I have been associated with Catholic Family Center for many years,” Philippone said.
“We are especially passionate about the restart program (chemical dependency treatment) and have seen the tremendous impact that programs like Healthy Sisters’ Soup and Bean Works have on the lives of others,” he said. “Catholic Family Center does so much good for so many people, and we wanted to be a part.”
