Area builders and architects can learn about green building technologies at a daylong seminar Wednesday.
The event is presented by the Rochester Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, the New York Upstate Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, the Consulate General of Canada in New York and CMHC International.
Among presenters is Amvic Building System, which will demonstrate its insulated concrete forms that are being recognized as a superior alternative to traditional masonry block, especially given Rochester’s extreme weather conditions, company officials said.
Other seminar topics include drain water heat recovery; the design and performance advantages of composite shake; mineral wool insulation; and green building with steel floor joist systems.
The daylong seminar, which costs $25, is at Hyatt Regency Rochester from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For details on the event, click here.
