Flower City Habitat for Humanity has honored real estate developer Anthony DiMarzo with this year’s Golden Hammer Award.
The award recognizes an individual, company or institution that has made contributions to the well-being of the community. Previous winners include the city of Rochester; Dennis Mullen, from CEO of Greater Rochester Enterprise Inc.; and Larry Glazer, CEO of Buckingham Properties LLC.
As CEO of Mark IV Enterprises, DiMarzo oversees roughly $100 million worth of residential and commercial construction in the area. During the last 30 years, Mark IV Enterprises has developed more than 150 properties here, including Corn Hill Landing, Warner Lofts, and Legacy Living Apartments and Townhouses.
“Tony’s commitment to Rochester, combined with his incredible vision, makes him a local treasure,” said Michelle Ashby, CEO of Tipping Point Media and Flower City Habitat for Humanity board member. “He has beautified and inspired growth in key areas of our community, and has an uncanny ability to recognize potential in underdeveloped places.”
DiMarzo received the award at the 2011 Leaders Build Luncheon Wednesday.
