Catholic Family Center has selected the CEO of Lakeview Mental Hospital Inc. to succeed its long-serving president and CEO, Carolyn Portanova.
Mark Wickham will take over as head of the organization, which is a division of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester, at the beginning of 2012. Portanova is retiring after 37 years of service to the organization. Wickham has been with the Geneva-based Lakeview Mental Health since January 2002.
While at Lakeview Wickham saw annual income double, and the organization also build 120 affordable housing units in six counties.
“I am delighted to welcome Mark as my successor and am very confident he will assume the role of president and CEO without missing a beat,” Portanova said.” His passion for our mission is evident and his dedication to serving those in need, especially the poor and vulnerable, has been an important element of his work for many years.”
Wickham has served as past director of the Western NY Region Association of Community Living and he is the founder and past president of the Capital Region MICA Task Force. He has spoken at several statewide conferences on topics such as managed care, cost focused management and behavioral health.
