Mercury Print Productions Inc. will get a state grant of up to $250,000 to help pay for machinery and equipment, representatives of the Empire State Development Corp. announced.
The Rochester commercial printer, which employs 210, plans to create 40 jobs as a result of a $4.9 million project.
The funding was approved Thursday by ESDC’s board of directors during a meeting in New York City.
Mercury, which has its headquarters at the Holleder Technology Park off Mount Read Boulevard, has acquired and installed a Kodak XL 500 Prosper Press at its Lee Road facility in Greece. The company also bought finishing equipment.
The company launched its book division in 2006 and moved it into a leased 70,000-square-foot building not far from its headquarters.
