Rochester Precision Optics LLC officially unveiled its expanded facilities Wednesday, a $10.7 million project that will result in 150 new employees.
Rochester Precision Optics added 43,000 square feet to its existing 64,500 square feet of space at 850 John St. The company employs 180, officials said.
The Empire State Development Corp. funded a portion of the project with a $750,000 grant, officials said.
Rochester Precision Optics also received a package of tax breaks from the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency and is working with Rochester Gas and Electric Corp. on funding to offset the cost of electric infrastructure improvements.
The company, previously the Kodak Optical Imaging Systems division of Eastman Kodak Co., makes optical components and assemblies for commercial, military and industrial systems.
