Arista Power Inc. is one of two contractors named for a program in Madison County whose goal is to install at least 30 solar photovoltaic systems there.
The program is expected to be worth roughly $400,000 in revenue to Arista Power this year, the Rochester firm said.
Solarize Madison was initiated by the Madison County Planning Department and the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board with support from the Renewable Energy Training Center at SUNY College at Morrisville. The goal is to bring solar energy to Madison County, located east of Syracuse, with cost savings through volume purchasing and a streamlined installation process.
“We are proud to be part of the solution for increasing energy independence in Madison County,” said John Benetti, Arista’s project director, in a statement. “Solarize is an initiative that has been gaining interest across the country (among) progressive communities that want to bring solar power and all of its benefits to (their) constituents in a cost-effective and easy way.”
