Xerox's Burns, Kraft's Rosenfield among the most powerful

The heads of two companies with local operations have been named to Forbes magazine’s list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.

Ursula Burns, chairman and CEO of Xerox Corp., ranked 17th on the list; Irene Rosenfield, CEO of Kraft Foods Inc., came in at No. 13.

Xerox ranked first on the most recent Rochester Business Journal list of manufacturers with 6,100 local workers. Kraft ranked 14 on the same list with 400 workers at its Avon, Livingston County plant.

German Chancellor Angela Markel topped the Forbes’ list, followed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Other notables include first lady Michelle Obama at No. 7, media titan Oprah Winfrey at No. 11 and pop superstar Lady Gaga at No. 17.
