Constellation Brands Inc. will match employee donations 2-to-1, up to $100,000, to the American Red Cross in support of Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
The Victor firm also is encouraging its U.S. employees to participate in local blood drives as there is a shortage of donated blood in the areas affected by last week`s superstorm.
Constellation Brands said more than a dozen employees and many business partners in the New York City and New Jersey were affected by the storm.
“In true Constellation Brands fashion, our people stepped up to ensure that the affected employees were safe and provided them with food and shelter,” said Robert Sands, president and CEO in a statement.
Locally, Constellation Brands has teamed up with Rochester General Hospital, InterVol and Sea Breeze Volunteer Fire Department. Employees can donate non-perishable food, clothing, water, toiletries, diapers and baby formula, which will be transported to those people affected in Staten Island and Brooklyn.
