A benefit is set to for Friday to help out Thread, a clothing boutique in Rochester’s South Wedge that was robbed on Nov. 13.
Representatives of the store estimate that roughly $20,000 worth of merchandise was stolen. The robbery was the third at the store in five years.
Lovin’ Cup Bistro and Brews in Henrietta will play host to a benefit concert starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Admission at the event is a $5 donation at the door. Local artists also have designed shirts that will be sold at the event to help raise money. In addition, organizers have set up a page on crowd fundraising website Indiegogo (http://www.indiegogo.com/threadrestore).
The goal is to raise $10,000 to help Thread buy more merchandise and purchase a new security system. More information on the event is at Lovin’ Cup’s website: lovincup.com.
