Rochester-based VoicePort LLC has finalized an agreement that officials say will fuel its growth in the health care segment of its business.
VoicePort creates customizable and interactive telephone response systems using speech recognition technology. The company’s systems can be used to, among other things, create automated medication refill reminders for pharmacy customers.
VoicePort said Tuesday it has added WellSpan Health, a health system serving Adams and York Counties in Pennsylvania, to its client base. WellSpan will install two of VoicePort’s offerings into its pharmacy system: PharmaRemind, an automated patient notification service, and Meducation, a prescription translation and instructional service.
“Medication Adherence is estimated to be a $300 billion issue in the U.S.,” said Christopher Mann, president and CEO of VoicePort, in a statement.
Offering patient instruction options via phone, Web, text, email and mobile to deliver messages will help to increase compliance and improve the overall health of each patient, Mann said.
