Faber Homes broke ground Tuesday on the construction of a home to be auctioned off to benefit the YMCA of Greater Rochester’s Invest in Youth Campaign.

The Beckham—a new floor plan offered by the Rochester-based firm—is a 2,208-square-foot, colonial-style home to be located in the Vista Villa’s at 238 Archer Road, Churchville.

“This is an exciting project for the YMCA of Greater Rochester and the entire community,” said George Romell, CEO, YMCA of Greater Rochester, in a statement. “We are truly grateful for the generosity of Faber Homes and all of the contractors who will collaborate on the house.”

Last year, the local YMCA raised more than $2 million during its Invest in Youth Campaign. The funds were used to provide people in the Rochester area with access to programs such as summer camp, before and after school programs, day care, swim lessons and youth sports.

At $209,900, the Beckham features four bedrooms and two and one-half bathrooms and includes a master suite with a master bath and walk-in closet, a great room with a modern open floor plan and a second-floor laundry room.

“Faber Homes is proud to partner with the YMCA of Greater Rochester and give back to an organization that promotes healthy living and stronger families by providing access to needed community programs and services,” said Bernie Iacovangelo, Faber president and co-founder, in a statement.

Bidding will begin March 13 and run until the house is sold. All bids will be handled by Bill Arieno, director of sales at Faber Homes. For more information go to www.faberhomes.com. To see the progress of construction on the Dream Home, go to rochesterymca.org/dreamhome.
