High Tech Rochester Inc.’s New York State Energy Research and Development Authority Entrepreneur-In-Residence Program has received national recognition.

The program was named runner-up for the 2013 Incubator Innovation Award, presented by the National Business Incubation Association. The award recognizes incubators that have developed and implemented innovative activities to help clients accomplish business goals.

The announcement was made during a luncheon Tuesday at the NBIA’s 27th International Conference on Business Incubation in Boston. First place went to the Center for Advanced Professional Studies of the Blue Valley School District in Overland Park, Kan.

HTR’s NYSERDA Entrepreneur-In-Residence program identifies and matches young energy companies with established entrepreneurs to help guide them. Currently there are 66 EIRs in the program working on 78 projects throughout New York State.

NYSERDA said over the past two years, New York energy companies participating in the program created more than $19 million in economic impact.
