Finger Lakes Technologies Group Inc. announced Friday it has entered into a partnership with Transwave Communications Systems Inc., a telecommunications system engineering company based in Clarence, Erie County.

FLTG will provide Transwave’s customers in Erie and Niagara counties with its call and Internet protocol services. Transwave’s customers also will benefit from FLTG’s fiber-optic network, which spans 850 miles across New York, officials said.

In addition, Transwave customers will have the ability to use FLTG’s data center storage and disaster recovery services, which are located at the Seneca Army Depot in Romulus, Seneca County.

“This partnership will allow FLTG to extend our reach in Western New York by providing our advanced voice services to more customers in the region. In the longer term, connecting to each other’s existing network will open up future growth opportunities for both companies,” said Paul Griswold, FLTG president and CEO, in a statement.

Victor, Ontario County-based FLTG and its family of companies employ more than 100 workers across the state.
