Harris Corp.’s RF Communications division in Rochester announced two multimillion deals this week.
The first was a $92 million contract from an undisclosed Middle Eastern nation for an integrated command, control and communications system. The system will provide the customer with advanced capabilities in defense and security missions, the company said.
The system leverages the latest in the firm’s wideband tactical radios and integrated systems capabilities to provide networked Internet protocol-based voice, data and video services across the mission area, the company said.
Dana Mehnert, RF Communications’ president, said the system addresses emerging requirements for networked command and control missions.
“Our wideband products and integrated system solutions are leading the transformation of tactical communications for our customers in the Middle East and throughout the world,” Mehnert said in a statement.
RF Communications also announced $55 million in orders from an international customer to deliver line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight tactical communications capabilities from its line of tactical radios.
The customer is acquiring high frequency and very high frequency radios and accessories. These radios will be deployed as part of a larger battlefield communications system.
RF Communications employs some 2,100 local workers.
