The Rochester Public Relations Society of America handed out its annual Prism Awards Thursday night during a ceremony at Artisan Works.
The awards recognize the best local public relations work done throughout the previous year.
This year’s Best of Prisms honors went to Eric Mower and Associates Inc. in the for-profit category for the firm’s “Kodak Develops a New Strategy for Drupa 2012” event campaign. Dixon Schwabl Inc. won in the non-profit category for its “St. Louis School” integration campaign.
The Rochester PRSA gave out several awards during the evening. Martino Flynn LLC led the pack with 17 awards.
Three special awards were given out. Joy Auch, regional communications manager for Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, earned the Rising Star Award. Barbara Pierce, president of Tipping Point Public Relations, won the Sharleen M. Bruse Award for being an active leader in community service and professional development. John Barr, chief marketing officer for Hillside Family of Agencies, was named Executive of the Year.
“We had one of our largest collections of entries this year,” said Michelle Cometa, president of the Rochester PRSA, in a statement. “There was a strong mix of traditional and social media. Our industry is growing and changing and our local PR professionals are keeping up with the trends – and leading some new ones, too.”
