Rochester Business Alliance Inc.’s board of directors has elected Nazareth College of Rochester president Daan Braveman to a two-year term as chairman, officials announced Thursday.
Braveman views RBA’s objective in three areas, he said in a statement.
“One is continuing to provide high-quality and relevant services to RBA members in order to ensure they’re successful,” he said. “A second key role for the organization is to advance the economic vitality of the region.
“The third thing is connecting business and the community in order to promote this region as the best place to live and work. I love this area so much that I would say jokingly to people ‘I should work for the Chamber of Commerce.’ Now I am, and I’m excited about it.”
He replaces Rochester Business Journal Publisher Susan Holliday, whose term ended last month.
Joining the board are Timothy Mason, CEO of Mason Marketing LLC; Hiram Hernandez Sr., chairman and CEO of First Capital Payments, representing the Rochester Hispanic Business Association; Lorisa LaRocca, a partner at Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP, representing the Women’s Council, an affiliate of RBA; and partner Kimberly Gangi, a partner at Insero & Co. CPAs P.C., representing the Small Business Council of Rochester.
