Verizon Wireless Inc. plans to add 280 full-time jobs in Rochester over the next few months. The positions will be focused in customer care and retail sales segments, the company said Tuesday.
The company’s Henrietta call center will be adding 260 customer care positions while 20 retail positions will be spread over seven locations in Rochester-area stores, company officials said.
Verizon Wireless ranked second on the most recent Rochester Business Journal list of telecommunications providers with 1,400 local employees.
“Verizon Wireless is a growing company in an exciting and dynamic industry, and we’re expanding here in Rochester and across Upstate New York,” said Chris Felix, president of Verizon Wireless’ Upstate New York Region, in a statement. “We’re committed to hiring the best people and to offering benefits and resources that help them enjoy work and grow their careers.”
