DiMarco Constructors, part of the DiMarco Group, has been named the general contractor for Monroe Community College’s downtown campus.
The new Damon Campus will be located in the former Eastman Kodak Co. space at State Street and Morrie Silver Way.
The funding needed to complete the project has been secured through Monroe County and New York State as part of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s 2014-15 executive budget. LaBella Associates P.C. is designing the project.
“The new campus will be a great option for students to attend one of America’s top community colleges,” said Anthony Soprano, DiMarco’s vice president of pre-construction services, in a statement. “The Damon Campus will offer a strong learning environment within a vibrant downtown community, which helps create a stronger workforce for the future of Rochester.”
The downtown campus is expected to be ready for occupancy in 2017.
