Greater Rochester Awards

The Rochester Business Journal and the United Way of Greater Rochester present the Greater Rochester Awards, which celebrate the exceptional work done by our community’s human services sector. The awards, given in several categories, will honor non-profit staff members, executives, volunteers and programs that make our community a better place to live.

Forty Under 40

With nominations from the community and selections by a committee of business leaders, the Forty Under 40 awards recognize 40 men and women under the age of 40 who have achieved professional success and made significant civic contributions to our community. The award has become a prestigious honor. Hundreds of people are nominated, and only the best of the best are recognized.

Best of the Web
February 2010
Every year the RBJ recognizes Rochester's best business Web sites with the Best of the Web Awards. The awards and an event recognize the area’s best sites, as determined by a panel of judges.

Health Care Achievement Awards
March 2010
This awards program recognizes excellence, promotes innovation and honors organizations and individuals who make a significant impact on the quality of health care in the Greater Rochester area. Nomination categories include health care innovation, physician, volunteer, nurse and management.

RBJ Power Breakfast Series
March 2010
Rochester is not the first city to consider mayoral control of its schools. Whether mayoral control would improve public schools in Rochester is a matter of hot debate, however. The Rochester Business Journal, in an effort to foster a community dialog and generate fresh, firsthand information and conversation, has assembled a panel of proponents, critics and experts. They will share their views and state their arguments for and against mayoral control on March 23. The panelists also will answer questions. The event is an opportunity to get a clearer picture of what mayoral control would mean here.

Environmental Leadership Symposium

The Rochester Business Journal, Rochester Institute of Technology and Greater Rochester Enterprise  recognizes local businesses for their response to environmental or conservation concerns with the annual Environmental Leadership Awards. This year’s event featured keynote speaker Kevin Surace.

Financial Executive of the Year

The Rochester Chapter of Financial Executives International and the Rochester Business Journal will presents Financial Executive of the Year awards each year. These awards recognize financial executives who have made outstanding contributions to their organizations and to the Greater Rochester community during the past year.
