Financial Executive of the Year Awards

Deadline for submissions is March 20, 2015.

This awards program celebrates financial executives in Rochester who contribute to the success of our region’s economic growth and stability. An independent panel of industry professionals will judge the nominations and select the finalists and winners in each of the award categories. Finalists will be announced in the Rochester Business Journal mid-April. All finalists and award recipients will be recognized at an awards ceremony in May. In addition, they will be featured in a special supplement in the RBJ.


To be eligible, the candidate:
• Must be a senior financial executive (CFO, Controller, Treasurer or equivalent title) and have responsibility for a company’s finances
• Must be in his/her current position for a minimum of two years
• Must be employed in Greater Rochester
• May be self-nominated or nominated by another person


Financial Executive of the Year:
Award will be presented, in multiple categories, to a senior financial executive responsible for a company’s finances who has made an outstanding contribution to his/her company’s performance over the past year. Award categories will be based on company size in both the public and private sectors.

Turnaround Specialist Award:
One award will be presented to a CFO, or a top executive responsible for a company’s finances, who has broken through the traditional boundaries of finance in contributing to a significant transaction, transformation or turnaround of his/her company.

Lifetime Achievement Award:
One award will be presented to a current or former CFO, or a top executive responsible for a company’s finances, who has honorably represented his/her company or organization by exemplifying performance, leadership, integrity, strategy and growth throughout his/her career while bettering the finance profession overall.

Rising Star Award:
One award will be presented to a financial executive (CFO level not required) under the age of 40, who has demonstrated strong financial skills and has exemplified leadership potential in his/her field.
